Pair your phone

Pairing links one phone to one computer. You do it once per phone. You need the terminal on your computer and the app on your phone at the same time.

On iPhone, add the app to your home screen first and pair from the installed app. It does not share saved data with Safari.

Pair

1. On the computer, run remotxai pair and leave it open.
2. In a second terminal on the computer, run remotxai pair setup. It prints a QR code and two links.
3. On the phone, open app.remotxai.com and choose Scan pairing QR. Point the camera at the QR code.
4. No camera? Choose Can’t scan? Paste the pairing link instead and paste the first link.
5. The phone shows a 10-character Verification code, such as 8K4ZN-W2PXE. Type it at the pair ▸ prompt in the first terminal. You have 3 minutes.
6. Answer the prompts in the terminal, one at a time. First the scope: a for all sessions, or l for the session list only. Then y to confirm, then a role, then an optional name for the phone.

The phone then shows your sessions.

Caution

The code must match exactly. If the phone shows no code, or a different one, deny the request and pair again. A mistyped code cancels the request, and the phone shows a fresh one.

Pick a role

Enter alone picks Viewer. Give a phone the smallest role it needs. Your own phone usually gets Driver or Admin.

Pair another phone, or remove one

Run remotxai pair again for each new phone. remotxai pair list shows the paired phones. To remove one, run remotxai pair revoke with the start of its fingerprint from that list.
